It’s been a full and fantastic summer.

Don’t forget Sunday PM service is IRB Camp testimonies from Jr. Boys, Jr. Girls, Jr. High, and Sr. High camps. Meet in Room #205 at 5:45 PM to review the order of service. Jr. High and Sr. High will be singing “Your Name” at the end of the testimony time.

Please plan to say something to encourage our people. Your testimony should complete this sentence and be Scripture inclusive if at all possible… “The most amazing thing the LORD show me at camp this summer was _________________________.”

For Sunday night… “PRIME TIME” – we’re hosting a cook-out at our home with FOOD, FRIENDS, and FILM. The vote is in and “The Princess Bride” has won again! Cost is $2 per person to off-set the cost of Brats, Hot-Dogs, Chips, and Desserts. Transportation will be provided from WRBC to Tebbenkamp’s Home. Vans will return to WRBC at 9:30 pm. Parents who wish to pick-up teens earlier may do so. Guys and Girls, who want to… bring your basketball stuff and we might play some dunk-ball in the drive way.

All 7th-12th graders are invited. Hope to see you there!!!

WRBC Youth TEAM Camp-Out
Friday-Saturday / August 20-21 (6:30 PM to 6:30 PM)

Open to all 7th-12th grade WRBC TEAM Teens. Cost is $3 per person (helps off-set food expenses).
Teens planning to attend MUST sign-up or e-mail Pastor Dave by Thursday evening.
Permission Slips need to be completed before departure from WRBC on Friday, August 20th.

Schedule:

Friday– 6:30 PM – Meet at WRBC head for GW
7:00 PM – Set-Up Camp and Cook-Out Supper
8:00 PM – Fishing, Canoeing, Campground Games, Free-Time, etc.
10:00 PM – S’Mores
11:00 PM – Head for the Tents… Big day on Saturday!

Saturday — 8:30 AM – Breakfast
10:00 AM – Group A – Five Lake Canoeing/Hiking Trip (with Pastor Dave)
Group B – Tubing & Water-Sports at Brinker Lake (with Mr. Schick and Mr. Deeds)
1:00 PM – Lunch at Our Campsite
2:30 PM – Group B – Five Lake Canoeing/Hiking Trip (with Pastor Dave)
Group A – Tubing and Water-Sports at Brinker Lake (with Mr. Schick and Mr. Deeds)
5:30 PM – Meet back at Campsite / Pack-Up and Head for WRBC
6:30 PM – Back at WRBC

What 2 Bring? Permission Slip, Bible, notebook, pen/pencil, outdoor modest/casual clothes for Friday night, fishing license & fishing gear (if you’re going to fish), personal toiletries, two towels (swimming & shower), swimsuit for ladies = one piece modest or two-piece with colored T-shirt / Swim shorts are encouraged, swimsuits for guys = swim trunks (no racing swimsuits or biking shorts alone). Life-vests (provided) must be worn at all times in boats and canoes, so if you have your own you’d like to bring, you can do that.

For Saturday we’ll be doing two activities: Hiking/Canoeing and Tubing/Water-Sports. You may choose to wear your swimsuit for the day. For the Hiking/Canoeing you’ll want old shoes that you can get muddy and wet or toe covered sandals, along with a long-sleeve T-shirt that can get wet. If you’re not wearing your swimsuit on the Hiking/Canoeing trip, you’ll need to wear long shorts that you can get wet and muddy. For the hike, you will also want sunscreen, bug-spray, a hat (keep ticks at bay), and if you bring sunglasses, remember a security strap. Again, ladies if you’re wearing your swimsuit for the Hiking/Canoeing, shorts are also recommended. Teens may want to bring an umbrella, sweatshirt or jacket, and an extra pair of shoes or sandals.
All knives brought to the campground for the camping trip, must have closable blades and be used with care. Cellphones are allowed on this trip, but teens will not want to take them on Saturday’s activities. No iPODS, Mp3 players, or personal gaming systems allowed on this trip. You might want to bring a change of clothes for after all of Saturday’s activities are done. Tents will be provided. Sleeping-Bags are available upon request. Teens desiring to attend who are arriving later on Friday night at George Wyth or who are leaving earlier on Saturday, please contact Pastor Dave at 319.233.3545 (church office number).

NOTE: As there is limited space for this activity, we are asking that WRBC teens do not invite friends outside of WRBC teens to this event. Barn Party is Saturday, October 30th… invite the whole world!

Don’t miss a special night on Wednesday, May 12th… that’s right, we’re doing “PANCAKES & PRAYER.” It is a night totally devoted to praying and fellowship. All teens and pre-teens are invited to attend (going into 7th grade fall of 2010 through 2010 graduates).

Youth TEAM Family Lunch & Learn

All Youth TEAM parents, teens, and siblings are invited to the Lunch & Learn on Sunday, February 28th. L&L begins after the Sunday School/ABF Hour in the WRBC Fellowship Hall (around 11:45 am). Jr. High families need to bring two 2-liters of soda-pop. Sr. High families need to bring a dessert to share. If you have teens in both Jr. High and Sr. High, just choose pop or dessert… and come to enjoy. The menu is pizza, veggie tray, and breadsticks. We will also pick-up some chicken for several of our teens who cannot have milk. In order to prepare accordingly for food, we simply ask that you RSVP to the church office by Friday afternoon, indicating the number from your family who plan to attend the Lunch & Learn on Sunday - 233.3545. The schedule will be:

11:45 am – Set-Up in Fellowship Hall

Noon- Meal (Lunch)

12:45 pm – Teen/Parent Chat with Pastor Dave and Youth Leaders (Learn) [Child care will be provided during the meeting time.]

1:45 pm – Head for Home

“You Can Tell It” Personal Evangelism Seminar

7th through 12th grade teens are invited to be part of the “You Can Tell It” personal evangelism seminar on Wednesday nights during the months of January and February. The series uses the Gospel tract “May I Ask You A Question?” (see the video on our video tab). We started the series on Wednesday, January 6th. Teens who would like to purchase the workbook, may do so for only $10. Football Party

Hey… Youth TEAM teens and WRBC College students, we’re opening our home on Friday, January 1st for our 2nd Annual Football Party. This is a “come and go – as you please” event. Tebbenkamp address is: 621 Lorraine Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa.

Party begins at Noon with the Penn State vs. LSU… followed by Ohio State vs. Oregon at 3:30 PM… followed by Florida vs. Cincinnati at 7:30 PM.

Bring some snacks to share and a 2-liter of pop. Should be a great time of fellowship and fun. Call or e-mail if you have any questions. There is no transporation from WRBC… parents need to drop-off and pick-up teens from Tebbenkamp’s home.
